I have so many things to tell you
When was the last time you tended to every corner in your home?
I spend about an hour outside everyday, oscillating between praying and pulling italian thistle, out one by one. Jose sees me out on the top of the hill, asks me if I want to use a hoe instead, I tell him no, I kind of like the meditation of the hand pulling, even if its a little crazy. He laughed and said sometimes crazy is okay, its good. I want to be able to walk barefoot in the yard, I like the crunchy leaves and soft grass.
I get the house ready for angels
There’s a different sunset every night
Many things orbiting all around eachother, things in the works. Myself included, I am coming out of self hermitage and letting the sun warm my face up nice and good.
There is actually no rush, and I do not need to be rushing.
In other news
I have a collage show at Dos Bar in Sonoma (the city proper). It’ll be February 5th, a Thursday, the show will be starting sometime in the early evening, exact details to follow . Dos’ was kind enough to let me run a few collage workshops during the last half of last year— it truly is a favorite and very special place. I’m grateful to the team for welcoming me into their space. If you’ve never been, this would be a really wonderful time to go.
It’ll be my first solo show, and I am giddy and scheming up some accompanying accoutrement, for joy’s sake, why not make it a little fun.
PS— have I ever shown you my website? It’s right here, incase you need to find me.
Here are some things that have been on my mind:
Thank you for supporting my work and for being in my orbit, What a gift it is to be seen, see ya later or sometime soon,
Marielle
